World war I museum
Steeped in history, the National WWI Museum and Memorial is America’s only museum dedicated to sharing the stories of the Great War through the eyes of those who lived it.

nerman museum of contemporary art
The Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art (NMOCA) has one of the top internationally acclaimed collections of emerging and established artists today. Public Art Review magazine named JCCC as one of the top 10 university/college campuses for public art in America, citing the sculptures, paintings, ceramics, photography and works on paper installed throughout the campus. The museum presents many of the region's most important exhibitions of leading-edge contemporary art, as well as dynamic and diverse educational programming.

KU Biodiversity institute
The KU Biodiversity Institute and Natural History Museum features live-animal exhibits, the famous Panorama and displays of fossils and Kansas wildlife. It also includes 120 researchers, staff and graduate students, and collections of more than 9 million plants, animals and fossils, and 1.2 million archaeological artifacts.
The museum offers four floors of exhibits, education programs for school children, and dozens of public programs and events each year.
overland park arboretum
The 300-acre Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens is an educational, recreational and cultural resource for the Kansas City region.
At the Arboretum, visitors may experience and explore:
13 gardens with more than 1,700 species of plants;
Trails that traverse rocky bluffs and bottomland paths;
180 acres of prairie home to native grasses and wildflowers;
Fauna, including birds, dragonflies, deer, snakes and other wildlife;
Formal and informal educational activities.

kc friends of alvin ailey
Kansas City Friends of Alvin Ailey (KCFAA) serves Kansas City in a three-part role as an educator, presenter, and unifier. Through our annual Symposium and other events, we facilitate the dialogue about race, place, and diversity in Kansas City. We are the only presenter of New York’s Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and Ailey II in Kansas City and are the company’s only second home. As an arts educator, our mission is to reach the neediest children in the Kansas City area, both in and out of school, and teach critical life skills through dance.
